Late last year I was privileged to participate and attend the SHAPE Symposium hosted by the SHAPE Research Centre at Flinders University. The day focused on girls and women in sport and physical activity.

The day commenced with a breakfast panel of Narelle Smith, Jane Woodlands-Thompson and myself sharing our experiences and thoughts on female involvement in sport and physical activity.

The other component of the day involved many informative presentations by leading experts in the field namely Prof. Dawn Penney and Prof. Susan Paxton.

It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss and learn more about such an important issue and one very close to my heart, engaging more girls and women to participate in physical activity.

A special thanks to Prof. Murray Drummond and Nadia Bevan for organising and facilitating the successful event.
